Information
and communication about perinatal autopsy:
Meeting the needs of parents and clinicians Staff
Questionnaire Thank you for taking the time to complete this questionnaire - it will only take 20 minutes to complete. The Australian and New Zealand Stillbirth Alliance
(ANZSA) in collaboration with the Perinatal Society of Australia and New
Zealand Perinatal Mortality Group (PSANZ PMG) is undertaking this survey of
doctors, midwives, nurses and social workers providing maternity and/or
neonatal care across Australia and New Zealand to identify the needs of staff regarding
communication and consent for autopsy following a perinatal death. This survey forms part of an international
study initiated by the Australian and New Zealand Stillbirth Alliance (ANZSA)
and endorsed by the International Stillbirth Alliance (ISA). As a perinatal clinician your views and experiences with consent for perinatal autopsy will help to identify future initiatives to support best practice around autopsy consenting procedures including identification of educational needs for staff. A similar survey will also be undertaken of parents after a stillbirth or neonatal death. In addition, for midwives and doctors caring for women around the time of stillbirth we are seeking information regarding the investigations for both mother and baby performed at this time.
